So you need the colors from an illustrator file right? There are two ways - the easy way and as always the hard way. Everybody know the hard way, so here’s the easy way - from the swatches panel’s flyout menu go to Open Swatch Library and then Other Library. Now instead of some swatch file, browse and open the file that you want to extract colors from. Another swatches panel will open with all the colors from the document that you’ve picked up.
